Alex Floyd — Melbourne, Florida

I design, build, and document things that have to work.

Three disciplines · one person

Some of what I do is wired, some of it is printed, some of it is written in code. It is all the same job: understand how a thing has to behave, build it so it does, and leave documentation good enough that the next person doesn't have to call me.

How I work

Note 1

Measure first

Nothing gets specified from a photo or a guess. I scan, measure, or read the existing drawings before I propose anything.

Note 2

Build it once

Parts and systems get built to be serviced, not just to pass a first test. If it will need replacing in a year, I say so up front.

Note 3

Hand over the drawings

Every job ends with documentation you own. Diagrams, credentials, part numbers, and what to do when something fails.
